Emotional Wellness Kit from NIH

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) offers the “Emotional Wellness Toolkit,” a comprehensive resource designed to help individuals manage stress and adapt to change. The toolkit provides six strategies to enhance emotional health:

  1. Build Resilience: Develop healthy physical habits, practice gratitude, and engage with your community.
  2. Reduce Stress: Prioritize sleep, exercise regularly, and establish a supportive social network.
  3. Get Quality Sleep: Maintain consistent sleep schedules and create a restful environment.
  4. Be Mindful: Practice mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing and mindful eating.
  5. Cope with Loss: Seek support from friends, consider joining grief support groups, and allow yourself time to mourn.
  6. Strengthen Social Connections: Build strong relationships, participate in community activities, and volunteer.

Each strategy includes detailed checklists and articles to guide individuals toward improved emotional well-being. The toolkit is available in both English and Spanish.
