Maryland Deaf Access Committee

The Maryland Deaf Access Committee Alcohol Anonymous (MDACAA) is a dedicated group of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) members providing accessible recovery services to Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and late-deafened individuals in Area 29. The organization ensures AA meetings are interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL), offering vital support for members who seek help to stop drinking. MDACAA adheres to AA’s 12 Traditions, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility in the AA fellowship. The group also organizes funding and scheduling for ASL interpreters and promotes AA’s principles of self-support and shared responsibility.
