Town Hall with Frederick City, County and State Delegates
The Deaf/Deaf Blind/ Hard of Hearing community is invited to a special Legislative Town Hall on Saturday, January 10th at the Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD) in Frederick. The town hall will take place at the Kent-McCanner Cafeteria/Auditorium (Elementary School) at 1 PM. Interpreters will be provided.
Maryland State Delegates, Frederick City Council and Frederick County Council will be present to answer your questions. They need to hear your concerns on January 10th before they go to Annapolis on January 14th.
Your questions can be regarding:
– taxes (i.e., Some county areas in Frederick are becoming city-owned, meaning that you will pay two taxes (city and county) instead of just one!
– home development (overbuilding? access?)
– Deaf/Deaf-Blind/Hard of Hearing senior citizens’ needs (i.e., services, etc.)
– public schools (re-zoning)
– interpreters’ funds
– transportation access
and anything related to Frederick and the state of Maryland
