Kids Writers LIVE! Carole Boston Weatherford & Jeffery Weatherford

Carole and Jeffery Boston Weatherford, the award-winning mother-son/author-illustrator team behind You Can Fly: The Tuskegee Airmen, will celebrate heroes, history and hip hop through poetry and spoken word. Baltimore-born, Carole is the author of more than 50 books, including The Roots of Rap and biographies of Marylanders Harriet Tubman, Billie Holiday and Charles Albert Tindley, a gospel composer. In addition to illustrating children’s books, Jeffery is a fine artist and performance poet.

ASL interpretation will be available to attendees.
